Comics HQ is providing a service for Cartoonists and Comicbook Illustrators to showcase their material. Each creator is responsible for their own material including maintaining backup copies, correspondence from fans, and any litigation that might result from copyright infringement. When uploading a file to Comics HQ you are giving us permission to publicly display your artwork. We do not ask for or retain a copyright claim on your material or characters. All copyrights remain with the individual artists. If you choose to remove your work you are required to do so through your creator account. Comics HQ has no responsibility to manually remove requested material for any user with an accessible account. We will however aid any artist who is having trouble accessing their account.

Comics HQ may request to use uploaded comics for promotions such as advertising or display on Comics HQ partner sites. In which case, artist permission will be requested first.
Comics HQ also retains the right to rate your material for appropriate content if we decide to implement a ratings system. This would mainly for material deemed too adult for younger visitors.

The editorial staff of Comics HQ encourages artist to submit without any narrow restrictions on content. This means that artists may pose unpopular viewpoints, religious viewpoints, political viewpoints, and even adult-oriented content. We will avoid censorship in most cases unless the nature of the comics is deemed to promote blatant and severe racial hatred. We do not discourage artists from submitting racial humor or even unpopular viewpoints on race but we will discourage and possibly remove racial hatred propaganda which calls for the death of any particular group, race, religion, gender or sexual orientation--usually silly Nazi shit. In some cases we may allow racially insensitive material to be attacked by other cartoonists in a free for all assault of expression. Some inflammatory content may also be subject to a vote by users of Comics HQ but the editorial staff and ownership of Comics HQ will have the final say. We want freedom of expression as much as possible and we will try to provide that arena as much as possible..

We encourage site users to treat each other with respect but do not require everyone to get along. If you have a beef with a fellow artist please use your anger in a beneficial way and express yourself on paper. Heavy debate and even outrageous arguments are acceptable. What is not acceptable are death threats, bullying or harrassment. Users deemed to be involved in such activities will be banned from the site.

Ultimately we want people to express themselves, have fun doing it and not be worried about being censored. As long as everyone understands that artwork and the written word are the tools to use towards exploring sensitive topics in a safe enviroment I think we'll be fine. We do not expect everyone to agree or require anyone to even get along--argue, debate, be controversial, be outrageous and be critical as much as you want. But we do require everyone to be civilized. In society you may insult someone verbally but you cannot physically harm them, harrass them or slander them without consequences. Keep that in mind and you will not risk being banned.
